Hello! I am a senior-level communications and marketing professional with experience in journalism, digital media, broadcast, non-profit and retail.
I joined WGAN-AM/Portland, ME as a producer while attending Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. This full-time opportunity developed into a paid internship. I advanced to Assistant Program Director of WGAN and WMGX-FM while WGAN transitioned to a full-time news/talk station. I was promoted to Program Director of WGAN and WZAN-AM at 23 years old.
I went on to join WCSH-TV/Portland, ME and WLBZ-TV/Bangor, ME as a producer as the station began to expand its early morning local programming and added Dawn Patrol, a local talk show at 5:00am. Within a year, the 5:00am who became the first hour of the NewsCenter Morning Report. I produced it for another 18 months before spending seven years at News Center at Noon. When the webmaster position at the stations opened in 2004, I jumped at the opportunity. I learned HTML and coded three versions of WCSH6.com and WLBZ2.com over the next 5 years. I was promoted to New Media Manager and became in charge of the stations digital and social media. After Gannett, the owner of the stations, consolidated its digital teams, I moved back into the newsroom and became Managing Editor.
I began my non-profit work in 2014 when I joined Goodwill Northern New England as Senior Director, Communications. Goodwill expanded rapidly in the mid 2010s, and because of financial issues, the Advancement Team was restructured and my focus turned to employee communication then Brand and Marketing. In the last few years, I have been supporting Retail and assisting that business unit to increase sales.
I live in Central Maine with my wife, Randi, our golden retriever, Grady, and our polydactyl orange cat, Chester. Randi and I recently completed a five-year odyssey of building our dream home in the Belgrade Lakes. My three kids are grown and all live in Southern Maine. I enjoy photography, cooking, camping, boating, kayaking, gardening and hiking.
